2021 IBC Determining Occupancy Groups and Types of Construction

4 credit hr, Credit for A, B, C contractors, Code credit for all other trades

Class will look at the requirements for identifying a buildings Occupancy Group and Type of

Construction. The ability to properly apply many provisions of the IBC require the correct usage of the

Group of Occupancy and Type of Construction provisions of the IBC.

• Review of Accessory Uses within Occupancy Groups

• Review of Incidental Uses within Occupancy Groups

Type of Construction

• Review of types I through V types of construction
